Baptism
Baptism is the sacrament by which we welcome new members into our parish community and the universal Church. We celebrate the baptism of infants at the 10:30 a.m. (English language) Mass on the second Sunday of each month. Parents and godparents must attend a class the Tuesday before the baptism. Parents should call the parish office at (562) 439-0931 and request that a Baptism registration form be sent to them at least one month in advance. The completed, returned form is the first step in arranging for the baptism of their baby. Godparents need to be Catholics in good standing. Spanish language baptisms are celebrated on the first and third Saturday of each month (see below). Adult baptisms are handled through the RCIA program.
Bautismo
El bautismo es el sacramento por el cual nuestra comunidad parroquial recibe los nuevos miembros de la Iglesia Católica. Los bautismos de niños en español se celebran el primer y tercer sábado de cada mes, excepto durante la Cuaresma (no bautismos se celebran durante Cuaresma). El Lunes anterior a la fecha que hayan escogido para bautizar, papas y padrinos deben venir al salon parroquial a las 6:30 p.m. para registrar el nombre de los ninos/as y allí mismo permanecen para atender la formación pre-bautismal necesaria para poder bautizar. Los padrinos deben ser católicos en buen estado. Los bautismos de niños en inglés se celebran el segundo domingo de cada mes (véase más arriba). Bautismos de adultos se manejan a través del programa de RICA.
